A bit about me...
Crochet came at a good time in my life. I've never been great at keeping to a relaxation habit like yoga or journaling, but when anxiety and depression crept into my mid-twenties crochet provided the perfect tool for my mental health.
The moment I began trying out new stitches and experimenting with beautiful yarn shades, I found myself staring at my crochet hook saying "Where have you been all my life?!"
I began sharing my makes on Instagram a few years later, and it's thanks to that inspiring and supportive online community that I finally decided to make a go of writing my own patterns and start up a blog!
The name 'Stitch Me Awkward' might sound counterintuitive to my mental health, but it's really meant to reflect the fact I'm learning to own my introversion, because it's woven into who I am. I'll probably always be the socially-awkward, quiet-till-you-get-to-know-me person in the corner. And I'd like to think my colourful crochet does the talking for me anyway 😁
